The Best of Us Challenge - Compete with olympic athletes using your own YouTube videos.
Welcome to the IOC's Best of Us Challenge, where Olympic athletes challenge you to compete in some truly unique events. Just enter a video and you'll be eligible to win some great stuff: posters, t-shirts signed by Olympians, official Olympic video games... even a trip to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver or the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games. This is your chance to take the athletes and your peers on and show us what you're best at. The challenges include:
- Natalie Cook (Australia, Beach Volleyball) tests your skill juggling while balancing
- Kelly Holmes (UK, Track and Field) sees how long you can twirl an umbrella
- Steve Hooker (Australia, Pole Vault) dares you to tap your head while in a handstand
- Yelena Isinbayeva (Russia, Pole Vault) wants to know how many continuous cartwheels you can do
- Lindsay Jacobellis (USA, Snowboard) wants to know how long you can hula hoop
- Shawn Johnson (USA, Gymnastics) defies you to beat her in either an egg toss or in tapping your ears while in a handstand
- Lolo Jones (USA, Track and Field) bets she can do more push-ups with a clap than you can
- Gerd Kanter (Estonia, Discus) checks your ability at picking up discs with your feet
- Barbara Kendall (New Zealand, Sailing) thinks she can beat you in a drawing smiley faces the fastest
- Carolina Kluft (Sweden, Track and Field) believes she can walk on her hands the farthest.
- Rafael Nadal (Spain, Tennis) is pretty sure he can pick up more tennis balls than you can
- Michael Phelps (USA, Swimming) thinks he's the best at speed putting
- Asafa Powell (Jamaica, Athletics) knows he can balance a stick the longest.
- Barbora Spotakova (Czech Republic, Javelin) might agree, but bets she can do it while walking up stairs!
- Lindsay Vonn (USA, Alpine Skiing) wants to know how many languages you can say hello in
- Pernilla Wiberg (Sweden, Alpine Skiing)Wants to see how far you can walk on your hands.
These Olympians and others have thrown down their challenges – now it's up to you to show them what you've got. The more you participate in the contest, the better your chances of winning. You can also create your own challenge and remember to share it with all your friends so they can watch your video and challenge you back. Join in and have some fun. The Best of Us Challenge is meant to bring out the best in you – whatever that is. Let's see what you can do; the athletes are waiting!
